Students and faculty from the HNRS 435 class “Second Skin: Clothing Our Humanity” spent Spring Break across the pond exploring subcultural neighborhoods, engaging in a design workshop with an independent designer, touring a clothing production company, learning about the ethics and environmental challenges of fast fashion, and learning about the historical and modern developments of powerful “diva” women at the Victoria and Albert museum. Trips like this teach us so much about ourselves, our world, and our connections with each other.
