2015 Honors Enrichment Highlights 

Hailey Meyer lived in Barcelona, Spain for eight weeks working as an intern for a humanitarian work/community service based organization through CIS Abroad.  Her Honors Enrichment Scholarship was funded by the Gerald Grandey, Neal Schmale, and Fred Schulte, Howard Janzen, and the Irelan Family endowments.
 
Michelle Hoffman received an Honors Enrichment Scholarship to travel to China where she particpated in the GoAbroad China Program. She worked as a mechanical engineering intern for the MINTH group. The program includes Mandarin lessons, cultural excursions, and homestay accommodations in addition to the internship. Her Honors Enrichment Scholarship was funded by the Gerald Grandey, Neal Schmale, Fred Schulte, Howard Janzen, and the Irelan Family endowment.
 
Robert Kyle Flanegin took a course in Design and Innovation for Sustainable Cities at the University of Califonia, Berkeley during the summmer. His Honors Enrichment Scholarship was funded by the Gerald Grandey, Neal Schmale, Fred Schulte, Howard Janzen, and the Irelan Family endowments.
 
Manju Murugesu is completed an unpaid intership with Education, Welfare & Research Foundation in Malaysia. She taught kids with low proficiency in English for this agency. Manju's experience was made possible by the Gerald Grandey, Neal Schmale, Fred Schulte, Howard Janzen and the Irelan Family Endowments.

Michelle Preston fulfilled her practicum by doing a study abroad at the University of Adelaide in Australia. She explored the ways in which Australia's unique geography and landscape affect the culture and lifestyle of the people, using national parks as geographical case studies.Her study was made possible by the Gerald Grandey, Neal Schmale, Fred Schulte, Howard Janzen, and the Irelan Family endowments.

Chase Li compelted an internship with Shanghai Sunwise Chemical Company. Ltd. and lived with a host family in China. His foreign area study was made possible by the  Gerald Grandey, Neal Schmale, Fred Schulte, Howard Janzen, and the Irelan Family endowments.

Alisha Eskew completed an "Improving Access to Psychological Therapies"course at the University of Exeter in England to fulfill her practicum. Her study was made possible by the Greald Grandey, Neal Schmale, Fred Schulte, Howard Janzen, and the Irelan Family endowments.

Alyssa Spomer was accepted to the Foundation for Sustainable Development to work in their Tola, Nicaragua location as an intern in appropriate technology and environmental sustainability. She worked towards advocating and educating others in sustainable environmental practices as well as to help to set up appropriate technological solutions to community obstacles. Alyssa's internship was made possible by the Gerald Grandey, Neal Schmale, Fred Schulte Howard Janzen, and the Irelan Family endowments.

Vi Duong completed an internship in the field of sustanable development in Ecuador through CIS Abroad. The trip will allow Vi to learn more about the Latin American culture and Spanish language.
